Syrian Arab Army declares SDF organization’s areas in Aleppo closed military zone
![]() 1205 Wednesday, 07 January, 2026, 15:35 The Syrian Arab Army Operations Command announced that Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo will be designated as “closed military zone” starting at 3:00 PM on Wednesday. In a statement, the command said, “A full curfew will be in effect in the two neighborhoods starting at 3:00 PM.” The statement also called on residents to stay away from SDF Organization’s positions. Clashes broke out in Aleppo at midday on January 6 between the Syrian army and the Kurdish internal security units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). |
