Trump announced the completion of the formation of the "Peace Council"

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, January 15, the formation of a 'Council of Peace' that will oversee the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
"It is a great honor for me to announce the creation of the Council of Peace. The composition of the Council will be announced soon, but I can confidently say that this is the greatest and most prestigious Council ever created at any time and in any place," Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
Almost an hour and a half later, Trump announced that “we have OFFICIALLY entered the next phase of Gaza’s 20-Point Peace Plan,” citing special envoy Steve Witkoff.
Witkoff announced the news of the second phase on Wednesday, “moving from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction,” he wrote on X.
