EU extends sanctions against Russia until February 24, 2027

The European Union (EU) has extended the restrictive measures against Russia until February 24, 2027. The relevant resolution of the EU Council was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on February 23.
"The decision on restrictive measures should be extended until February 24, 2027," the document says.
It is noted that the European Union considers it appropriate to maintain all previously introduced measures. The updated decision comes into force on the day following its publication in the EU journal — February 24, 2026.
