Iran’s political system 'very strong and stable' despite killings: Foreign Minister Araghchi
![]() 1379 Wednesday, 18 March, 2026, 10:41 Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the loss of key officials would not weaken the country’s governance or institutions. Speaking to Al Jazeera, he said, “I do not understand why the United States and Israel have still not realised that the Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure, with well-established political, economic, and social institutions.” He added that while individuals play roles within the system, their absence does not undermine it. “Of course, individuals matter and everyone plays their part—some better, some less—but the key point is that Iran’s political system is very strong and stable.” |
