Iran's military mocks Trump's claims of peace talks

Donald Trump's repeated claims in recent days of progress in talks with Iran have been met with mockery in Tehran.
A spokesperson for the military there says the US president is trying to "dress up your defeat as an agreement".
Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari made the comments on state television in a recorded broadcast.
"The strategic power you used to talk about has turned into a strategic failure," he said. "The one claiming to be a global superpower would have already gotten out of this mess if it could."
Perhaps the most dismissive part of his message to the US was:
"Have your internal conflicts reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?"
His statement came after reports the Trump administration has drawn up a 15-point plan for ending the war.
