The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, has claimed that around seven million Iranians are prepared to take up arms in defence of the country.
In a post on X, Ghalibaf said that a powerful nationwide campaign had mobilised these citizens in less than a week, and that they had declared their readiness to defend Iran․
He emphasised that Iranians do not merely talk about defending their nation but are willing to shed blood if necessary, recalling past sacrifices and asserting they are ready to do so again.
Ghalibaf further warned that any aggression against Iran would be met by the full mobilisation of its people, who he said are “loaded, ready for battle, and standing with heads held high.”
