Hajiyev: Armenia beginning to realize benefits of peace in South Caucasus

Armenia is beginning to recognize the benefits of the peace agenda that has emerged in the South Caucasus region, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, told journalists on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, according to a Report correspondent in Antalya.

He noted that Azerbaijan supports the resolution of all regional issues directly by the countries of the region.

"The region's problems should be resolved by the countries of the region. Azerbaijan, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, has clearly demonstrated the principles of regional leadership, regional initiative, regional responsibility, as well as regional cooperation and integration. This has ensured the emergence of a new geopolitical reality in the South Caucasus," he said.

Hajiyev emphasized that the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict has become a unique model, including in terms of the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.

He also noted that for many years, external forces have proposed various formats for resolving the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, but they have failed to produce results.

"In this context, we can recall the activities of the Minsk Group. President Ilham Aliyev's regional leadership policy has created a new reality in the South Caucasus. The Armenian side also clearly sees the benefits and understands the importance of peace in the region," he emphasized.
