US military forces have been granted authority to strike boats belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) if they pose a threat to vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing a US official, reported that the rules of engagement for American troops in the Middle East have been modified.
Under the updated guidance, forces are now permitted to target immediate threats, including fast-moving IRGC boats and Iranian missile positions.
