Lukashenko meets with Xi Jinping during visit to China

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is on a working visit to China. In Beijing, the Belarusian head of state held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian leader stressed that he highly values the positive appraisal of Minsk-Beijing relations by the PRC chairman. “This is exactly what we discussed with you and, perhaps, even dreamed about to some degree on the threshold of this broad-based cooperation between Belarus and China,” the president said.
China was the first stop on Aleksandr Lukashenko's major overseas tour to East and Southeast Asia, a region that ranks among the world’s development leaders and serves as a global economic engine. This explains the strong interest in expanding cooperation with Asian nations, which is one of Belarusэ foreign policy priorities and underpins its multi-vector approach to international relations.
