Fenerbahçe appeals against the penalty imposed by UEFA.

UEFA fined Fenerbahçe €7 million for violating the squad cost rule. The yellow-navy club announced it would appeal the €7 million fine imposed by UEFA.
UEFA has fined Fenerbahçe for reporting a squad cost ratio exceeding the 70% limit in 2025.
HUGE FINE FOR FENERBAHÇE
In its statement, UEFA announced that it had fined the yellow-navy club for violating squad cost rules. Fenerbahçe will therefore pay a fine of 7 million Euros.
YELLOW-NAVY CLUB TO APPEAL THE FINE
In its statement on the matter, the yellow-navy club said, "As a result of the examination of the financial data for the 2025 calendar year within the scope of the UEFA Club Financial Sustainability Directive; while football team costs should be limited to a maximum of 70% of football-related revenues, it has been determined that this rate is 84% for our club. Due to the exceeding of this limit, as a result of the investigation initiated by UEFA in the past period, a financial disciplinary fine of 7 million Euros has been imposed on our club as of June 30, 2026. This sanction arises from the fact that the transfer fees, agent expenses, player salaries, and other related team costs for the 2025 calendar year exceeded the financial sustainability limit set by UEFA. Due to this fine arising from financial practices of the past period, our board of directors, which took office only 22 days ago, will make the necessary legal and administrative applications within the legal timeframe to appeal the relevant decision in order to protect our club's rights and interests, and will take the necessary measures to ensure our club's full compliance with UEFA financial sustainability criteria."
