He was in prison! The bizarre story of the World Cup final referee

Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic will be in charge of officiating the crucial match between Argentina and Spain. However, few remember that in May 2020, the official was involved in a police scandal after being arrested in a raid in Bijeljina, Bosnia.
A raid in the middle of the pandemic
Vincic was caught in a cabin with several people who were violating pandemic lockdown rules. During the operation against a prostitution, drug trafficking, and arms dealing ring, police seized cocaine, weapons, and nearly 10,000 euros. The referee was detained after trying to flee on a boat with three companions, due to his alleged link to one of the women being sought, Tijana Ajfon. Despite the uproar, he was released a few hours later after it was confirmed that he had no direct connection to the criminal organization.
