Iran’s top diplomat meets UN chief in New York

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Secretary-General and the Minister for Foreign Affairs exchanged views on the ongoing conflict in the region. The Secretary-General welcomed the diplomatic efforts that have been taking place during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, and which aimed at ending the conflict. He urged the parties to sustain these efforts and resolve their outstanding differences through negotiations to achieve peace.
