Spain: at least 46 dead in train collision near Toledo

The death toll from the tragic rail accident on the Madrid–Seville high-speed line has risen to 46, with over 150 people injured. One train was carrying 157 passengers, the other 397.
This is reported by the Madrid-based newspaper La Razón, citing the emergency services of the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The accident took place between Mora, Orgaz and Urda, at kilometre 118, involving a Renfe train and an Iryo train, both high-speed services travelling from Madrid to Seville. The Renfe train collided with the rear of the other train, which was stationary on the tracks; two of its carriages plunged down an embankment, as confirmed by the 112 emergency services to the Europa Press news agency.
Renfe has announced that rail services between Madrid, Ciudad Real and Andalusia have been suspended.
