Former French President to be tried for obscene gesture

The German 37-year-old journalist believes that the 94-year-old politician showed unacceptable perseverance.
German journalist Ann-Catherine Stracke filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office of Paris against the 94-year-old ex-president of France Valerie Giscard d'Estaing, accusing him of sexual harassment.
On Thursday, May 7, reported the publication Le Monde. The 37-year-old journalist claims that at the end of 2018 during an interview for WDR d'Estaing, who held the post in 1974-1981, put his hand on her buttocks.
This happened at the time of photographing. "I was very surprised and disapproving of these attacks, which put me in a very awkward situation, I tried to push the hand of Monsieur Giscard d'Estaing, but was not successful. I got the impression that he insisted," the journalist said.
