Derby City Council recognises the Independence of the Republic of Artsakh
![]() 1780 Thursday, 26 November, 2020, 12:10 On November 25th 2020, Derby City Council unanimously passed a resolution to formally recognise the Independence of the Republic of Artsakh ( Nagorno-Karabakh). “Earlier this year on the 27 September, Azerbaijan, with full political and military sopport of Turkey, initiated large-scale military aggression against against the Republic of Artsakh, targeting civilian population and civilian infrastructure with banned weaponery. Azerbaijan's recent actions further emphasise the existential threat to the people of Artsakh and make it imperative for the international community to actively work toward neutralizing it, including through the recognition of the Artsakh people's right to self-determination and their right to live freely and with dignity in their historic homeland.” |
