The medical commission, which analyzed the circumstances of the death of ex-football player Diego Maradona, concluded that his attending doctors did not provide him with assistance. This was announced on Tuesday, April 27, by TASS with reference to the Argentine newspaper Clarin.

“With his [Марадоны] medical indicators it should have been treated in a different way, “- the newspaper notes.

According to the medical board, Maradona’s doctor Leopoldo Luca and psychiatrist Agustina Kosachov did not pay due attention to his heart problems, as well as cirrhosis, and did not provide the care he needed.

The commission also found that Maradona’s death occurred in a dream from 04:00 to 06:00 (10:00 to 12:00 Moscow time) on November 25, 2020. Before that, it was known that the ambulance doctors who arrived at the scene indicated the time of death at 13:15 (19:15 Moscow time). The new information goes against the testimony of the nurse Diana Madrid, who initially stated that she entered the ex-football player’s room in the morning, and later admitted that she did not see him, but heard him walking around the room at about 07:30 (13:30 Moscow time) …

According to some lawyers, the new information may lead to a toughening of the article of the prosecution in the case of Maradona’s death from “causing death by negligence” (up to 5 years in prison) to “causing death with indirect intent” (from 8 to 25 years in prison) or “refusal to provide assistance that resulted in death ”(from 5 to 15 years in prison). At the moment, seven people are accused, including Luke, Kosachov and Madrid. The full report from the medical board will be published in May.

Maradona died on November 25 at the age of 61. The cause of death was acute heart failure, which led to pulmonary edema. The Argentinean prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the alleged negligence on the part of the ex-footballer’s doctors.
