Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in New York City on the margins of the UN General Assembly to discuss multiple areas of U.S.-Turkish cooperation. Turkey is an important NATO Ally, and discussions included joint efforts on Afghanistan and regional issues, from Syria to the Caucasus.''.While this afternoon’s meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu went about an hour, the two of them of course discussed Afghanistan at length. They also talked about Syria, and they had a relatively long conversation about the Caucasus – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh'',the State Department official said.
