British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he had discussed with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky the possibility of granting him asylum in Britain because of Russia’s special military operation.
“We’ve been discussing all this for a long time,” Johnson said in an interview published by the “Sunday Times” newspaper today, Sunday. “One of the first issues was the question of what would happen if things went badly. I must say that Zelensky has always been very clear. He said he owed The people are for the Ukrainians, and he will stay there in Ukraine to take care of them.”
Johnson did not rule out the possibility of his visit to Kiev, despite the continuation of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
“I am very excited to support Zelensky in any way. I don’t know if the visit will be an effective way to show my support, but from a strategic, political, economic and moral point of view, it is very important that Putin fail and Zelensky succeed,” he added.
