986 Tuesday, 12 April, 2022, 19:00 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused to receive his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Bild reported on Tuesday citing people familiar with the matter. According to the sources, Steinmeier was planning to come to Kiev on Wednesday with representatives of other European Union countries to meet Zelensky, but the Ukrainian president said Steinmeier is "not welcome" due to his "close ties with Russia." Last week, Steinmeier called for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to be tried for alleged war crimes in Ukraine. |
