Sergey Smbatyan: Sufferings endured by the Armenians of Artsakh must be heralded across most significant international platforms
![]() 726 Monday, 26 December, 2022, 12:24 When giving assessments to disturbances that occur in different parts of the world, the personal fate of a single individual is often overlooked by the international community. However, no allowances can be made for turning a blind eye to the fates of over 120000 people, nor should it find any justification. Today, over 120000 Armenians of Artsakh are deprived of foods, medicine, energy supplies and other essential consumer goods delivered to them from the Republic of Armenia, since the only route connecting Armenia with Artsakh has been blockaded by Azerbaijan for about half a month now. The “corridor of life” to Artsakh is blocked by Azerbaijani terrorist groups disguised under the image of “eco-activists”, whose forefront is cynically represented by characters from Intelligence agencies of this country to the infamous Turkish nationalist and armenophobic organization called “Grey Wolves.” Sufferings endured by the Armenians of Artsakh must be heralded across most significant international platforms, as the unbearable situation provoked by Azerbaijan is already growing into a humanitarian disaster. With this message, I am calling on all influential people and organizations in the cultural or other domains of public life around the world, who are not unconcerned with human fates, to raise their condemning and compelling voices against Azerbaijan for this humanitarian crime. I am addressing this request to all those who are capable of empathizing with strangers and taking their hardships seriously, just as they would with those whom they hold dear. And who knows if it isn’t your very voice that becomes the turning point in putting an end on the sufferings of Armenians in Artsakh. Source: Սերգեյ Սմբատյան |
