Four convicts have escaped from a medical facility in Germany, where prisoners with psychological or addiction problems are treated.

Local media reports that they escaped on Saturday evening shortly after 21:00 local time. The four patients of the psychiatric hospital BKH Lerchenhaid are suspected of first threatening an employee. After that, they left for Alburg.

Police released a statement, including detailed descriptions, photos and identities of the four suspects, as well as information about the clothing they were last seen wearing.

The convicts included a 31-year-old Bosnian citizen, two 28-year-old German citizens and a 27-year-old Kosovar citizen.

"The four fugitives are considered dangerous," police said, while the fugitives are being searched for by helicopters and dogs.
