The Lebanese army has handed over to Damascus about 70 Syrian soldiers, including officers who fled the country after the overthrow of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The returnees were detained immediately after crossing the border into Syria.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the detainees were transported to Syrian territory on three buses, accompanied by representatives of the Lebanese army intelligence service and intelligence officers.
