The statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, claiming that on January 5, between 10:00 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the southeastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality.
It should be noted that the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenian-Azerbaijani mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related cases. To date, Azerbaijan has not provided a response to this proposal.
