Lavrov: "The fighting will be stopped only if the result is satisfactory to Russia"

The Russian Federation is ready to negotiate on Ukraine, but will stop hostilities only if the result satisfies the Russian side. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

"We are ready to negotiate with both Ukraine and Europe, with any representatives who would like to help achieve peace, but we will stop hostilities only when these talks yield a firm and sustainable result that satisfies the Russian Federation," the minister said.

The option of stopping hostilities along the contact line and thinking through further steps will not suit Russia, he emphasized.
