The Syrian Armed Forces, subordinate to the new authorities of the country, are using artillery to strike settlements in Latakia during clashes with supporters of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This was reported to TASS by a source in the province.

Now the Syrian army and security services are amassing large forces in Latakia and Tartus.
