Khamenei։ "If we really wanted to create nuclear weapons, America would not have been able to stop us"

The US would not have been able to stop Iran if it had really wanted to get nuclear weapons.

This was stated by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"They say: "We will not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons." If we really wanted to create nuclear weapons, America would not have been able to stop us," the ISNA agency quotes Khamenei as saying.

"The fact that we do not have nuclear weapons and we do not want them is because we do not want them, for some reasons. We have already talked about these reasons, we discussed them, we did not want to do it ourselves, and even if we did, they would not have been able to stop us."
