Aliyev: "Destructive weapons are directed against us"

"The destructive weapons supplied to Armenia are directed against us. Perhaps today they are needed elsewhere. But these weapons are being sent to Armenia"․

This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the opening ceremony of the XII Global Forum in Baku.

Baku regularly states that “Armenia’s arms policy is a serious threat to regional stability.”

Official Yerevan counters, noting that having a combat-ready army is the sovereign right of the country.
