"The 30-day ceasefire is not the end of the war, there will be no elections" - Zelensky's office
![]() 578 Friday, 14 March, 2025, 13:33 Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, told Le Repubblica that a 30-day ceasefire does not mean the end of the war, and therefore the lifting of martial law and the holding of elections are impossible. “The situation will be unpredictable. Negotiations and reliable observers who can record ceasefire violations will be required. We must maintain combat readiness until the situation is stabilized,” he stressed. According to Podoliak, in an unstable situation it is impossible to guarantee the security of polling stations and the election campaign, and a 30-day ceasefire will not create an opportunity for elections. Podoliak added that if the ceasefire is stable and guaranteed by neutral observers, the holding of elections will be possible. |
