Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to resume hostilities in the Gaza Strip means a death sentence for Israeli hostages, said Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
"Netanyahu's decision to resume the war is a decision to sacrifice Israeli hostages and sentence them to death," al-Rishq said in a statement.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces reported that Israel was carrying out large-scale air strikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said that Netanyahu had broken the ceasefire and had subjected the hostages in the Gaza Strip to an "unknown fate."
The death toll from Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night exceeded 230, more than 350 people were injured.
