Amirbekov։ "The possibility of reaching an agreement with Azerbaijan will not last forever"
![]() 560 Thursday, 27 March, 2025, 10:27 The Azerbaijani side called on the Armenian side to speed up the process of signing a peace agreement and noted that this opportunity will not last forever. This was stated by the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbekov, who is on a visit to Buenos Aires, in an interview with the Argentine publication Perfil. “One of the factors motivating Armenia to reach an agreement is the realization that this opportunity will not last forever, and it would be a mistake to miss it,” Amirbekov said. According to him, the negotiations on the text of the peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan, which ended this month, open the way to normalizing relations and establishing diplomatic ties. However, for this to happen, Armenia must amend its constitution, renounce territorial claims, and withdraw foreign forces from border areas. As Perfil notes, Azerbaijan is seeking to convey its position to the international community, especially given its role in Europe’s energy sector and the changing geopolitical balance in the region. |
