"This is not our war! The role of France is to be a mediator state and promote peace, not fuel wars," said Florian Philippot, leader of the French Patriots party, who called for the demonstration. Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Palais Royal near the Louvre. Then, participants with posters reading "We will not die for Ukraine," "Europe should encourage peace, not war," "The French are for peace," "Down with NATO," and "We are tired of the European Union" headed to the other side of the Seine. ![]() |
