The letter, sent to the assistant to the Azerbaijani president Hikmet Hajiyev on behalf of the head of the German presidential administration, Dörte Dinger, expresses regret over the incident and apologizes for the possible misunderstanding that could have caused a negative reaction in Azerbaijan. The day before, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who was on a regional visit to Armenia, published the Artsakh flag on his social media page, making a post about the Artsakh Armenians. In this regard, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Harleman was summoned to the Foreign Ministry. Steinmeier removed the post. |
