The International Criminal Court (ICC) has said that Hungary must cooperate with the court regarding the visit to the country of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for whom the court has issued an arrest warrant.
“With regard to the visit to Hungary by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the court recalls that Hungary is obliged to cooperate with the ICC,” the court’s press service told reporters.
The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant for alleged war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Hungarian Prime Minister’s chief of staff announced that the Hungarian government had decided to withdraw from the ICC.
