Rutte: "Russia also needs to ''tango'' with Ukraine"
![]() 578 Monday, 07 April, 2025, 10:15 Russia also needs to “tango” with Ukraine to resolve the conflict, but apparently it hasn’t yet, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said in an interview with CBS. “The ball is clearly in the Russian court,” Rutte said. In his opinion, the US president’s team is trying to achieve a situation where it is possible to stop the conflict, but without Russia’s help, it will be difficult. “The front line is moving in the wrong direction, this war is going in the wrong direction,” Rutte said. The same phrase about the need for both sides to participate in the tango was used by US President Donald Trump to describe the peace process in mid-March, when the American and Ukrainian delegations managed to reach a preliminary agreement on a 30-day ceasefire. Trump expressed hope that Russia would approve of this initiative. |
