Zelensky: "We will return the territories: when or how, I cannot say"

In an interview with CBS, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the prospect of returning territories under Russian control, emphasizing that a just peaceful settlement must guarantee Ukraine's sovereignty and independence.
"The important thing is not to lose our sovereignty or independence...
We will return the territories. When and how – I cannot say today. But this is the goal. Justice. This will be, I believe, ultimately the most difficult. Because as I said – territories will be returned either by people or by time," said the president.
"The fact is that we cannot trust negotiations with Russia. The Russian armed forces have killed up to 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers and 13,000 civilians.
If Putin is not stopped, the war threatens to become global," Zelensky said.
