Lavrov։ "Moscow will not allow itself to be trapped"

Moscow knows how not to make a deal with US President Donald Trump that would drive Russia into a trap, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Kommersant.
"Now, when we are offered normal (as Donald Trump says) "deals", we perceive this in a good sense. We understand perfectly well what a mutually beneficial deal looks like, which we have never rejected, and what a deal looks like that could drive us into another "trap".
As the minister noted, Trump's foreign policy is based on defending the national interests of the United States, but the American president is ready for dialogue with other countries when these interests coincide. Lavrov considered this approach pragmatic and worthy of discussion.
At the same time, the head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized that after restoring relations with Washington, Moscow should not allow repeated dependence in the economic, technical, military and other spheres
