U.S. President Donald Trump expressed hope that Ukraine and Russia would soon be able to reach an agreement to end the war.

He wrote this on his social media.

I hope Russia and Ukraine will reach an agreement this week. After that, both countries will begin to do great business with the thriving United States of America and make fortunes! - noted the American leader.
Trump did not specify the details of a possible agreement and also did not mention the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine and the U.S. State Department.

Since February, Russian representatives have held several rounds of talks with the United States, in which, in particular, the Ukrainian settlement was discussed. Ukraine has also held meetings with US representatives.

On April 15, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov positively assessed the contacts between Moscow and Washington on the settlement issue, but noted that "there are still no clear outlines of any agreement."
