"The lights of the Eiffel Tower will be turned off on the evening of April 21 in memory of the Pontiff. Since 2013, Pope Francis has embodied a universal message of solidarity, peace and humanism. On behalf of myself and all the inhabitants of Paris, I express my sincere condolences to the Catholic faithful of Paris, France and the whole world who mourn the death of the Pontiff today.
