State Department: "Washington refuses to act as mediator in Russia-Ukraine negotiations"
![]() 601 Friday, 02 May, 2025, 09:39 The United States is no longer going to play the role of mediator in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. The time has come for direct talks between the parties. This was stated by State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce at a briefing. “We will not be mediators. We will not fly to the other side of the world in an instant to hold meetings. Now the work must be done between the two sides,” she said. The United States will nevertheless make efforts to establish peace, but the resolution of the conflict now requires “concrete ideas” from Moscow and Kiev, the State Department spokeswoman said. |
