Overnight, more than 40 people were killed in Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip, Al-Jazeera reported, citing Palestinian health sources.
“The ongoing Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip have killed 43 people since Thursday morning,” the sources said.

According to the channel, targets in the cities of Gaza and Deir el-Balah were hit. More than 20 people were killed in attacks on residential buildings in Khan Yunis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, and targets on the outskirts of the city were also hit. The city of Rafah was hit by artillery fire.

According to statistics from the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 2,700 people have been killed and more than 7,800 injured in Gaza since March 18, when Israel resumed shelling.
