Ahead of the talks between Moscow and Kiev, a separate meeting of representatives of Russia and the United States will be held in Istanbul, the BBC reported.

The United States will be represented by Michael Anton, director of policy planning at the State Department, and Russia by Vladimir Medinsky, assistant to the president and head of the delegation.

The BBC writes that Anton will not participate in the trilateral meeting of Russia, Ukraine and Turkey, which will take place later today.

According to Interfax, the Russian delegation is against the participation of American representatives.
