"A list of prisoners of war to be exchanged on the principle of "1000 for 1000" has been transferred to Kiev" - Peskov
![]() 1081 Thursday, 22 May, 2025, 17:46 Moscow has handed over to Kiev a list of prisoners of war who are to be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war on the principle of “1000 for 1000,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “We have indeed handed over our list. We have not yet received such a list from Kiev. We are waiting,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Interfax. At the same time, according to RBC-Ukraine, President Zelensky said that the data on the prisoners of war are being verified. “We are verifying the data of each person in the lists provided by the Russian side.” The terms of the exchange have not yet been made public. Peskov had earlier stated that the issue of the exchange is “quite laborious,” since “we are talking about a thousand for a thousand.” Let us recall that during the Russian-Ukrainian talks held in Istanbul on May 16, an agreement was reached on the exchange of prisoners of war on the principle of "1000 for 1000". |
