Fidan shared details from his meeting with Putin

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told the Milliyet newspaper that he discussed the talks on Ukraine in Istanbul with Russian President Vladimir Putin, conveying Ankara's position and receiving Moscow's response.

"To be honest, the meeting was held in a very warm atmosphere. We mainly talked about the talks on Ukraine. We also talked about the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, relations between Turkey and Russia, and the current process between Gazprom and Botaş. After the talks in Istanbul, we had some opinions, I conveyed them, I received their response so that my upcoming visit to Kiev would be effective," Fidan said.

According to the minister, in such talks it is important to understand the thoughts of the interlocutor.

"Such contacts and the opportunity for frank discussions are very important if you really want to do something. In this regard, I consider the meeting very useful," Fidan emphasized.
