Ukraine “created the pretext” for a massive Russian assault by launching drone strikes on airfields inside Russia, U.S. President Donald Trump said.
“Well, they gave Putin a reason to step in and wipe them out last night. That’s what I didn’t like about it. When I saw it — the strikes on Russian airfields — I said, ‘Here it goes, now there will be a strike,’” the president said.

The US President expressed hope that the war does not escalate into a nuclear conflict.

On June 1, the SBU carried out a large-scale and unprecedented operation called Cobweb to destroy Russia’s strategic bombers. The next day, Ukraine’s SBU confirmed that 41 aircraft were damaged in simultaneous strikes on four military airfields deep inside Russia.
