US Redirects Missiles from Ukraine to Middle East, Zelensky Reveals

The United States of America (USA) has transferred 20,000 missiles to the Middle East, although these weapons were originally intended for Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with ABC News published on June 8.
“It was an inexpensive and special technology. We were counting on them.”

Zelensky emphasized that these missiles were critical in the fight against Iranian Shahed drones, which strike Ukrainian infrastructure daily.
The president noted that this concerns a batch of weapons previously promised by the Joe Biden administration but did not specify which system or type of missiles were involved.
At the time of publication, the White House had not provided any comments regarding the change in delivery direction.
Ukraine continuously urges the US and other allies to accelerate the delivery of air defense systems and ammunition, especially to counter Russian kamikaze drone attacks.
The transfer of the already promised batch of missiles to another region may indicate Washington’s priority focus on the escalating situation in the Middle East, particularly due to tensions between Israel and Iran.
