Rubio: "US supports continuation of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine"

The United States is in favor of continuing direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio after a conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
The State Department reported that during the meeting, the politicians discussed the efforts being made to end the conflict in Ukraine.
"Secretary Rubio stressed the importance of continuing direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to achieve lasting peace," the publication says.
The first round of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place on May 16, the second on June 2. Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian side proposed holding the next meeting from June 20 to 30. According to a TASS source, it will also take place in Istanbul.
