Israel carried out airstrikes on Iran tonight. The capital Tehran and Tabriz were bombed.

Iranian media reported that the Israeli strikes killed the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Salami, and the deputy commander of the Iranian army, Gholam Ali Rashid. Two Iranian nuclear physicists were also killed.
International sources (The Guardian, AP, Financial Times) report that Israel attacked several strategic Iranian targets, including the Natanz nuclear enrichment center.
According to preliminary information, the strikes also targeted the military bases of the Revolutionary Guard Corps and some control centers in Tehran.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the operations would continue "as long as necessary" to neutralize Iran's nuclear and ballistic programs.
The US has officially stated that it did not participate in the attack, but is “ready to defend its interests in the region.”
Global markets are in turmoil. US stock futures are down, oil prices have risen by about 5-6%, causing increased economic tensions.

Tehran considers the US an accomplice in the Israeli strikes, a spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces’ General Staff said.

The US State Department had previously stated that the US did not participate in Israel’s attacks on Iran.

At the same time, the Pentagon announced that it would help Israel defend itself and counter Iranian missile strikes.
