Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan

On June 13, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The discussion addressed the escalating crisis in the Middle East. The ministers voiced grave concerns regarding Israel’s military operation against Iran, conducted in violation of international law and the UN Charter, and supported immediate de-escalation of the tensions in the region. In this context, they stressed the importance of steering the confrontation toward diplomatic negotiations.
The foreign ministers agreed to maintain contact and affirmed Moscow’s and Abu Dhabi’s readiness to facilitate conditions for consistent progress toward peace and security in the Middle East.
