Macron: "France and EU will speed up negotiations with Iran"

After a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, French President Emmanuel Macron announced his intention to accelerate negotiations between European countries and Tehran to end the conflict in the Middle East.
Earlier, the Washington Post reported that the date for new talks between Iran and representatives of the "European troika" has not yet been determined, but the meeting is planned to be held within two weeks.
"Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called me... I am convinced that there is a way out of war and to avoid greater danger. To achieve this, we will accelerate the negotiations launched by France and European partner countries with Iran," Macron wrote on his page on the X social network.
The French leader also added that Tehran must provide guarantees about the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks in Geneva with his counterparts from Great Britain, France and Germany on the nuclear issue and the situation in the Middle East. EU Foreign Minister Kaia Kallas was also present at the talks.
