NATO statement does not include prospects for Ukraine's membership

The statement issued after the NATO summit does not mention Ukraine’s prospects for joining the alliance, according to a text published by the Telegraph newspaper.
The Times newspaper had earlier reported that the joint statement adopted after the upcoming NATO summit will contain anti-Russian formulations, but will not include any words about the “irreversibility” of Kiev’s path to membership in the alliance.
According to the published text, Ukraine is mentioned only in the context of providing it with further support.
The statement does not mention Russia’s actions regarding the situation in Ukraine. Russia is mentioned only in the context of posing an alleged threat to Euro-Atlantic security.
